Journeyman Electrician
WE HAVE FILLED THESE POSITIONS BUT ARE STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. THOSE WHO HAVE AN APPLICATION OF FILE WILL BE GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION IF ANY JOB OPENS.
Due to the tremendous response from people out of state, we have modified this page in an attempt to provide as much information as possible. Watch for updates.
There is a huge demand for qualified electricians in this area. We have enough work, for the 20 electricians we currently employ, for the rest of this year, without bidding another job. We can easily put another five journeypersons and three apprentices (utility workers) to work right now for the same period of time. We are turning down great jobs just because we can not assure completing them in a timely fashion. We have been in business here for well over ten years, have many established customers and a lot of work coming up, so we anticipate no slow-down in the near future.
Our primary work is done in very high-end residential and some commercial/industrial. We have our own in-house CAD technician and do our own design and drawings for many aspects of our work. We are trying to grow our commercial end and we are looking at the feasibility of working with solar power, however, we have no openings for persons specializing in either of the above.
We are very concerned with the QUALITY of the work we do, so we do not just take on work for the sake of getting work. The need for quality does not mean we overlook the amount of time it takes to get something done, so we need EXPERIENCED people. Five of the twenty electricians working here are fully licensed electrical contractors, we know what we are doing and we know when someone does not know what they are doing. If you are justifiably confident in your capabilities, this is the place for you.
Along with a high hourly rate, some employees get to take assigned vehicles home, saving a lot of money on the expenses associated with commuting; this adds up to quite a bit of money. We also have six paid holidays, 75% of the cost of medical and dental (for the employee only), vacation, and bonuses. We are in the process of completing a deferred compensation plan, such as a 401k.
The hourly wage is open to negotiation. We are willing to pay what a person is worth, as long as that person can make money for the company. Do not apply here if your desire is to sit back or coast through jobs, we cannot afford to keep you.
